god, she tends to the house.
blows warm summer wind through the curtains,
taps rain on the tin roof,
brings the local cat by in the evenings,
brings life to the garden,
and casts a tornado when she feels cheated.
god, she is the plans lost
as much as she is the laughter.
man makes plans
the way he makes stories from the smoke
that rises from the campfire,
the way he makes shapes out of starlight.
she leaves the campfire untended,
lets the forest burn to ash,
brings down the heavens
and asks us to start anew.
